COMPANY OVERVIEW
The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.
ROLE SUMMARY:
At Prairie Payments Joint Venture the Supervisor, Electronic Payments, is responsible for planning, scheduling and monitoring of the day-to-day department operations for a single or multiple process including the payment types of AFT, Wires, Bill Payments and ATM POS; ensuring all deadlines are met and the established standards of production are maintained, including effective coordination with other departments and establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships. This position provides direction and coaching to members of the team, assists in daily and monthly statistical reporting, monthly billing and initiates process improvements. This position ensures the delivery of superior customer service through effective communication and appropriate problem resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all aspects of people management and development including but not limited to; recruitment, delegation and monitoring of work, performance management, coaching, mentoring and creation of training and development plans. Where appropriate, communicate and escalate employee relations issues
- Assist in the development of department objectives
- May assist with the development and management of department budget and variance analysis
- Identify and report non-compliance issues and make recommendations for resolution and process improvement
- Maintain high standards of customer service
- Produce operational metrics and reports
- Participate in performance effectiveness activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues escalated from team members
- Detect and report any issues or discrepancies
- Assist in the implementation of projects in the areas of payment types of AFT, Wires, Bill Payments and ATM POS.
- Ensure continuous learning and development of self and others
- Support risk management and effective governance by maintaining compliance with policies, procedures and controls both corporately and within area of responsibility, ensuring they are operating effectively and escalating discrepancies to management
- All other duties as assigned
KEY SKILLS AND EXPEREINCE REQUIREMENTS
- Related University, college, formal certification or a combination of formal education and 2 years of experience.
- 2 or more years of experience in a people leadership role.
- Knowledge of Canadian Payment Association (CPA) rules and standards.
- Knowledge of electronic banking transactions especially payment types of AFT, Wires, Bill Payments and ATM POS.
TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED
- Proficiency Level of Microsoft Office Suite: Word – Intermediate, Excel – Intermediate, PowerPoint – Basic and Outlook – Intermediate. Other software as required.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Primary contact with immediate department and other organization contacts as required.
External: Contact with Credit Unions, other financial institutions, government agencies, other affiliates, vendors and suppliers.
