COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.

ROLE SUMMARY

At Prairie Payments Joint Venture Business Analysts (BA) conduct comprehensive business analysis of the organization’s business/technical operations. These highly analytical specialists have both business and technical expertise. Duties include analyzing requirements, estimating the cost, and establishing system protocols.

The Business Analyst will assess every aspect of our daily business/technical operations. For this position, BA’s will examine existing and new systems for improvement, report common issues, evaluate company performance, and recommend new system procedures.

To excel in this position, the BA should be an experienced professional with in-depth knowledge of business processes and business system analysis techniques. The ideal candidate will also be dedicated and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with functional and cross functional business analysts and operations analysts to understand their needs and gather detailed business requirements
  • Conduct data mapping and data transformation in both legacy and cloud systems that illustrate current and future states
  • Helps improve current processes and systems
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions
  • Assist project and product managers
  • Ensures standardization in documents developed
  • Propose and design technical and process solutions that meet business needs and objectives
  • Examine current and new business procedures to identify opportunities for process improvement sand contribute to ongoing organization efforts
  • Identify effective solutions for business software system issues
  • Report common patterns, questions, and other issues to management
  • Recommend solutions for improving and restructuring company procedures
  • Assist with the development of user stories
  • Assess company performance, information, and plans by participating in testing and validating new systems and processes to meet business requirements
  • Monitor company systems status and report any progress or changes
  • Research and estimate the costs of upgrades and improvements
  • Establish specifications for new projects by developing project goals, phases, and budgets
  • Contributes to maintaining the centre of excellence

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or relevant field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a business analyst
  • Experience in payments processes, systems modernization
  • Experience in working with project management tools such as MS Vision, JIRA, etc.
  • Experience handling various payment vendor products in production environments
  • Experience in various core financial institutions banking functions
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly analytical mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
