COMPANY OVERVIEW 

The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.

ROLE SUMMARY

At Prairie Payments Joint Venture Senior Business Analysts (Senior BA) provides strategic business analysis and development of the organization’s business/technical operations. Also known as Business Analysts, these highly analytical specialists have both business and technical expertise and in-depth understanding of the business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and context in which PPJV operates. Duties include analyzing requirements, estimating the cost, and establishing system protocols.

Senior Business Analyst will assess every aspect of our daily business/technical operations from end-to-end and identifies and addresses operational, financial and technological risks. This position also identifies opportunities to improve efficiency. The Senior BA, you will examine existing and new systems for improvement, report common issues, evaluate company performance, and recommend new system procedures. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experience in payments processes, systems modernization
  • Experience handling various payment vendor products in production environments
  • Experience in various core financial institutions banking functions
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Information Systems and apply this to the development, execution and improvement of action plans
  • Support functional and cross functional business analysts to meet client and business needs
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to more Junior Business Analysts
  • Demonstrates leadership in the development/maintaining a centre of excellence for other business analysts
  • Ensures standardization in documents developed
  • Lead projects, manage resources, drive the resolution of issues, hold self and team accountable for results, and articulate ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others
  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by leading business and process analysis and design with both legacy and cloud systems
  • Experience in data analysis on identified source systems
  • Experience in working with project management tools such as MS Vision, JIRA, etc.
  • Examine current and new business procedures
  • Identify effective solutions for business software system issues
  • Report common patterns, questions, and other issues to management
  • Recommend solutions for improving and restructuring company procedures
  • Assess company performance, information, and plans by conducting regular tests and analysis
  • Monitor company systems status and report any progress or changes
  • Research and estimate the costs of upgrades and improvements
  • Establish specifications for new projects by developing project goals, phases, and budgets

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or relevant field
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience as a business analyst
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Proficient in data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly analytical mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
